Why an IBCLC Matters
The highest credential in lactation care.
Not all lactation support is the same. An IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) is the gold standard in the clinical management of lactation and breastfeeding. This highest-level credential requires hundreds of supervised clinical hours, health science education, and passing a rigorous international board exam (with recertification every 5 years).
IBCLCs are trained professionals in lactation support and help with the management of complex, complicated feeding challenges. They work with issues like low milk supply, pain with latching, slow weight gain, jaundice, pumping schedules, and more.
In simple terms, an IBCLC is the lactation expert pediatricians and hospitals trust to provide skilled, evidence-based lactation support.
